“GIVE IT UP, AVERY PEARSON” on VEEPS

Avery Pearson’s Debut Comedy Special Premieres June 26 Exclusively On VEEPS

Los Angeles — Give It Up, Avery Pearson, the debut comedy special from actor, comedian, and musician Avery Pearson, drops June 26 exclusively on VEEPS. Part epic concert, part confession booth, this musical comedy spectacular captures the highs and lows of life as an artist—one minute ready to call it quits, the next totally convinced he was born for the spotlight.

Filmed live at Dynasty Typewriter at The Hayworth in Los Angeles, the special offers a heartfelt, hilarious, and deeply personal look at the friendships that sustain artists through the chaos of chasing big, uncertain dreams.

“For sure my friends are the reason I’ve kept going,” says Pearson. “Comedy might look like a solo act, but you’re never really alone. It’s tough, though - even the most successful comics I know still wrestle with wanting more. It’s that constantly moving goalpost, open mic-er wants to be a headliner wants to be a theatre act wants to be Kevin Hart wants to be The Rock. But what keeps us grounded is each other at every level, and so this concert duet special is my love letter to our weird, awesome comedy community that shows up, lifts you up, and reminds you to be grateful. I think about Brody [Stevens] and the people we’ve lost, and it just makes me prouder to create work that brings us together.”

The special features a powerhouse lineup of Pearson’s closest comedy collaborators performing original comedy music that’s as legit as it is funny. With songs ranging from broadway retail therapy to indigestion in the style of Linkin Park, this is a comedy concert like no other.

Joining Pearson on stage are a parade of comedy greats and special guests, including:

  • Jay Pharoah (SNL)
  • Lisa Ann Walter (Abbott Elementary)
  • Jackie Tohn (Nobody Wants This, GLOW)
  • Adam Ray (Dr. Phil Live!, Barbie)
  • Arden Myrin (The Righteous Gemstones, Free Bert)
  • Beth Stelling (If You Didn’t Want Me Then – Netflix)
  • Jeremiah Watkins (DC Super Hero Girls)
  • Luke Null (SNL)
  • JR De Guzman (The Comedy Lineup – Netflix)
  • Josh Adam Meyers (Bill Burr Presents: Friends Who Kill – Netflix)
  • Scout Durwood (Mary + Jane – MTV)
  • Stevvi Alexander (Twenty Feet From Stardom, The Roots, Sheryl Crow)

Surprise cameos include Iliza Shlesinger, Jeff Ross, Rachel Bloom, Michael Chiklis, Sal Vulcano, Steve Byrne, and Randy & Jason Sklar.

The setlist includes Pearson’s signature comedy songs like “Dreams,” “I Am a Hyundai,” “Quit,” and duets “Sex Chair,” “I’m So Tired,” “Anything Is Possible at The Grove,” and “Fingerblasting Women,” backed by a killer band featuring Joel Rutkowski, Nick Liberatore, Jordan Baum, and Dan Lacey.

Give It Up, Avery Pearson is executive produced by David Nickoll and Avery Pearson, and produced by Thousand Percent and Adam Ray. It will be available to stream in the U.S. and Canada, and is free for VEEPS All-Access subscribers or available to purchase for $12.99.
